Time for my (slightly delayed) annual year in review! In 2017, I:

• Took a few beach days

• Painted myself purple and green

• Dyed my hair indigo, then cut it all off

• Experienced my first ever Beer Bike!!!!!

• Danced so much

• Became a brunch fiend

• Learned how to smelt copper, dye clothes, and flintknap

• Explored a lot of museums

• Watched some amazing people graduate and take on the world

• Excavated at a medieval religious site in Ireland

• Roadtripped to Georgia

• Welcomed the coolest new students to Rice University

• Helped some Houstonians rebuild after Hurricane Harvey

• Taught myself how to play ukulele

• Ate Taco Bell for the first time in years

• Learned how to articulate and draw bones

• Went to a rave on a Thursday night

• Lived at coffee shops

• Took pictures of beautiful moments and beautiful people

• Enjoyed the very creative fridge poetry of so many Jonesians

• Saw the Milky Way

• Shared music with friends

• Had a Florida Thanksgiving

• Celebrated the Astros winning the World Series

• Witnessed an eclipse AND snow in Houston

• Reconnected with old friends

• Continued the holiday tea tradition with my mom and grandmom

• Wrote a short story

• Fell in love a few more times

• Lost a lot of faith, then gained some of it back

• Made art.

Things changed, but things always change. Here’s me, going into 2018 with the plan to keep getting better at accepting the past, present, and future - with a little bit more gratitude every day.
